Solutions Architect

Located in Repentigny, a suburb of Montreal, Vigilance Santé has been developing databases and drug analysis software for nearly 30 years to provide front-line healthcare professionals with tools. As part of our team of approximately 70 employees, you will participate in stimulating challenges in a dynamic work environment. Reporting to the Product Director, the Solutions Architect will join our technical team for a high-impact, 9-month temporary mandate with strong structuring potential. This unique opportunity will allow them to actively participate in defining, designing, and leading the technical architecture of our systems. The selected candidate will play a key role in steering technological choices and establishing the guiding principles that will drive the evolution of our architecture. Their expertise will ensure smooth interoperability between our products, thereby optimizing synergy and contributing to an enhanced long-term user experience.

Responsibilities:

• Design a unified, coherent, and scalable architecture aligned with the current and future needs of our web products and services, providing clear technical direction to ensure a robust and sustainable development foundation.
• Analyze product requirements and recommend relevant technological changes.
• Define an architectural vision aligned with our web product roadmap, steering structural choices and tools toward modular, secure, and maintainable approaches (e.g., microservices, decoupled components, API Gateway, optimized inter-service communication).
• Collaborate closely with business, DevOps, and data centralization teams to ensure coherence and integration of all components.
• Understand the company's business needs and integrate them into architectural planning.
• Clearly explain technical concepts to ensure stakeholder understanding.
• Communicate a clear architectural vision to development teams and guide them through solution implementation.
• Actively recommend concrete tools and best development practices suited to our ecosystem.
• Document architectural decisions and ensure efficient knowledge transfer to technical teams.

Technical Skills Required:

• Strong mastery of solution architecture principles, including decoupling, interoperability, and modularity.
• Excellent understanding of modern web ecosystems and integration mechanisms (e.g., REST, GraphQL, JWT, OAuth2, OpenAPI, webhooks, network resilience).
• Solid knowledge of scalability, performance, resilience, and application security.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation principles (e.g., GitLab, Ansible, Rundeck).
• Knowledge of containerization environments and private cloud infrastructures (e.g., virtualization, orchestration).
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment that includes both legacy monolithic systems and scalable new solutions.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Development, or Software Engineering.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in software architecture, including at least one major project where the candidate was the principal architect.
• Proven experience in designing modular, scalable solutions tailored to product needs.
• Strong knowledge of modern architecture and software development trends, practices, and technologies.
• Any relevant certification will be considered an asset.
