Senior quality assurance analyst

Based in Repentigny, a suburb of Montreal, Vigilance Santé has been developing databases and drug analysis software for nearly 30 years in order to help health professionals and their patients make better decisions. Reporting to the Product Director, the senior quality assurance analyst will contribute to defining and implementing quality assurance standards and processes in collaboration with QA analysts and the development team. They will act as a key resource for improving testing strategies and promoting best practices to ensure product quality. The incumbent will also be responsible for planning and performing manual or automated tests for various products in production or under development across all our platforms (Windows, Web, mobile, etc.).

Responsibilities:

• Perform various types of testing (Ad hoc, system, acceptance, functional, regression, compatibility, usability, exploratory) based on product needs and requirements.
• Design and document detailed test plans to ensure comprehensive coverage.
• Develop and execute automated tests using tools like Katalon Studio or other relevant tools.
• Conduct manual testing to validate key functionalities.
• Maintain and manage test environments in collaboration with technical teams.
• Work closely with development teams to ensure tracking and resolution of detected anomalies.
• Participate in defining acceptance criteria in User Stories and functional refinement sessions.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of quality assurance processes.

• Attend regular meetings scheduled by the Agile team to maintain communication and transparency.
• Take responsibility for the development team’s objectives and strive to achieve the set results for each sprint.
• Adapt to changing priorities, evolving project requirements, and new information that may emerge during development.
• Proactively communicate effectively and transparently with team members, including providing regular task updates, flagging obstacles, and seeking help when needed.
• Participate in sprint retrospectives to identify strengths and areas for improvement, then implement corrective actions to optimize the development process.

• Serve as a key resource for resolving complex technical issues.
• Evaluate and optimize current QA processes and testing strategies to enhance efficiency and reliability.
• Identify opportunities to improve automated testing and optimize regression test scenarios.
• Research and propose innovative solutions to improve test coverage and the quality of deliverables.
• Help identify and implement the most suitable tools for automating testing processes.
• Contribute to applying established standards from the competency center in product realities.
• Act as a reference in the QA community and proactively support other team members.
• Stay updated on technological trends and industry best practices, making recommendations to the product’s technical lead.
• Collaborate closely with the product technical lead, DevOps, PO, and project manager on technical aspects of the product and team processes.

Requirements:

• College diploma in Computer Science or equivalent.
• A minimum of four years of relevant experience.
• Natural leadership skills and strong communication abilities.
• Any combination of education and experience will be considered.
• Excellent knowledge of Katalon Studio or other automation tools.
• Familiarity with version control software such as Git.
• Knowledge of Web and Windows environments (Linux is an asset).
• Experience with Jira and Confluence (an asset).
• Experience with X-Ray (an asset).
• Experience with Agile methodology (an asset).
• Knowledge of the healthcare sector (an asset).
